Recently, Prada started a new Instagram page called Prada Beauty and introduced the launch of the new Prada perfume, Prada Paradoxe. Actress Emma Watson made her directorial debut by directing and starring as the muse for this new campaign. The film speaks to a fearless woman who walks in her imperfections but also continues to evolve while staying true to herself. As a former Generation Prada Intern, I’m excited to see Prada stepping into the beauty space and launching new fragrances after signing a deal with L’Oreal.

The New Fragrance Launch
During New York Fashion Week, I attended the pop-up event Prada held in the Meatpacking District to celebrate the launch of Prada Paradoxe. I was able to take pictures, see the new bottle, and bring home samples of the new fragrance. This new Prada perfume is a great Spring/Summer time scent that is light and airy. This fragrance includes notes of neroli, amber, and musk that make for a fresh, floral smell that dries down well on the skin. Personally, I enjoy this fragrance better than Prada Candy, which is a more youthful scent. I feel Prada Paradoxe is fit for a woman 25 and up who is stepping into and excelling in her womanhood.

There hasn’t been a campaign of this magnitude for Prada since the release of Prada Candy in 2011. Prada Paradoxe is a new, fresh take on fragrance for the brand to add to its collection. This perfume comes in a triangular-shaped glass bottle with a square black cover. This pink fragrance comes in three different sizes 1oz, 1.6oz, and 3oz. The bottle has some weight to it and a nice atomizer that sprays a fine mist of the perfume. After using several of the samples, I noticed that this scent lasts between 5 to 6 hours. I like how it’s floral and sweet and not overbearing. This perfume can also be layered with other sweet scents like Burberry Her. This scent is great to wear all day at the office or for a date night.
Prada Paradoxe
Prada Paradoxe women’s fragrance is an invitation to explore and express the paradoxical multi-dimensionality of women. The floral ambery parfum reinvents freshness, intensity, and sensuality to reveal the avant-garde signature of a timeless bouquet. The entire Prada Paradoxe range is refillable.
Price: $110 -$180
Prada and Sustainability
One of the new things Prada decided to do with this new fragrance launch is to make the perfume refillable. This helps to cut down on the amount of waste in landfills and how it affects our environment. I’m excited to know that Emma Watson made sure that, in order to collaborate and work with Prada, the product had to be sustainable. I believe many more fashion houses will continue to move toward the direction of making fragrance products sustainable by making them refillable. This can be seen with other brands like Mugler and their fragrance fountain, or Dior making their fragrances refillable.

Prada Paradoxe is crafted by Master Perfumers Nadege Le Garlantezec, Shyamala Maisondieu, and Antoine Maisondieu. The aroma of this perfume has a soft, feminine quality to it that exudes sweetness but still feels sophisticated. The trio perfumers created a scent that is commercially appealing to a wide range of women, from a fragrance connoisseur to a novice, this line along with its flankers has had much success. Prada Paradoxe is definitely a compliment getter, people always ask me what I’m wearing when I go out, and when I do tell them, they quickly run to get the perfume for themselves.
If you’re not ready to commit to the full-size perfume, you can try out the Paradoxe discovery set that comes with two mini sizes of Prada Paradoxe and Prada Virtual Flower. Overall, this perfume has great wearability and is one to add to your collection this season.
