The Barbie™ platform heels are the perfect shoe for a nice dinner or outing. This heel is almost five inches high with an inch and a half of platform height. Crafted in a beautiful satin fabric and adorned with this rhinestone encrusted heart buckle in the front. The Barbie™ platform shoes are a fun, fashion statement piece. I love the glitter bottom soles which can also be found on the kitten heels.
The heels have a rounded peep-toe box in the front with the strap holding your feet comfortably in place. If you have wide feet these shoes are very forgiving and give your feet ample room to move around while feeling secure. On the backside, you have the buckle loop closure with a small “B” hanging from the strap. Plus, the insoles feature Aldo’s patented Pillowwalk™ memory foam that makes these heels feel super comfortable. The attention to detail from the Aldo design team demonstrates just how much thought went into creating these shoes.
I purchased these in a size 9 and suggest downsizing with this collection as sizes run a bit bigger. Plus, it comes in this bright pink Barbie™ shoebox that’s reminiscent of the box that Barbie™ dolls come in. Aldo Chief Brand and Product Officer, Daianara Grullon Amalfitano disclosed in InStyle that “One of the first things that you experience when buying a Barbie is the box – it’s bold, hot pink, and has that signature window – so we created a shoe box that mimicked those elements, including a clear window that displays the Barbie x ALDO shoes.”

The “Barbiecore” trend has been prevalent over the last year with many brands like Aldo creating their own spin on the iconic Barbie™ pink aesthetic. This brings up so much nostalgia for many of us who grew up playing with Barbie™ dolls as young girls. I truly felt the impact of Barbie™ this year after seeing the movie and watching all the Oscar and Emmy award wins it received. Plus, the team at Mattel was hard at work with all the marketing and licensing deals dropping at the same time building this massive buzz.

I leaned deep into the nostalgia and bought several handbags and heels from this Aldo collection. I purchased my Barbie™ platform heels right after Black Friday for $78. This was a steal because for weeks these shoes were priced at $140. Aldo was double discounting during the holidays and I received cash back on my online order using Rakuten. I received $3.46 back for my purchase. I went to the store to pick up my shoes and fell in love with the uniqueness of these heels.
My goal this year is to step out of my comfort zone and push the boundaries with my fashion. I’ve never owned a pair of platform heels but these make the perfect addition to my collection. So purchasing them in my size at the right price was key for me since re-stocks only happened a few times.
