The Top 4 Winter Jackets From The North Face

When it comes to the wintertime, The North Face jackets will keep you feeling cozy and looking cute. I had an opportunity to shop at The North Face outlets during the summer season, to get some great discounts. From the iconic North Face Nuptse to the Parnassas vest, there are many fashionable styles to choose from.

The Iconic Retro 1996 Nuptse Jacket

The Nuptse was first introduced by the brand in 1992 and received some updates in 1996. Since then, this jacket has gained tremendous popularity over the decades and has become an iconic part of our culture. From collaborations with top brands like Gucci and Supreme. To Kendall Jenner wearing the infamous brown Nuptse, this puffer jacket has become a must-have for winter clothing outfits.

1996 Retro Cropped Nuptse

The 1996 Retro Nuptse has design lines and silhouettes inspired by the 1996 Nuptse jacket. Patterned leopard print on the body evokes topographical maps. The boxy fit is easy to layer, making it perfect over winter sweaters.

Before investing in my winter wardrobe this year, I wore two North Face fleece jackets that I had since college. Since it had been a few years, I decided it was time to update my closet. So, I called The North Face Outlet to see how I could get my hands on a Nuptse. The sales associate explained that “The Nuptse had become super popular after the Kardashians wore it and bulk buyers would come in the morning to snag them”. So I continued to check the outlet store at Sawgrass. Until one weekday I popped in and found my purple and black leopard print cropped Nuptse on clearance for $75.

History and Popularity of The Nuptse

I bought it right away because, at that price point, I knew it was a steal! I like the fashion print that was used for this jacket and how it’s cropped with an adjustable waistband. The North Face Nuptse is easy to layer sweaters with, plus the 700-fill goose down kept me warm during the frigid New York winter. You get insulated hand pockets in the front with The North Face logo embroidered on the front and back. Plus, you have velcro straps to adjust the tightness around your wrists so wind and snow are kept out. I love this jacket and get several compliments on the print whenever I go into the city. So many people pull out their Nuptses for the wintertime here in New York that it’s become a tradition.

The Parnassas Vest

The Parnassas Vest is a lighter jacket I picked up for the fall season in a classic black color. This vest has an elastic cinched waistband in the back with the embroidered North Face logo. During September and October, you can layer this vest with a light long-sleeve shirt to keep you warm. The shell of the jacket is made from nylon, which has a water-resistant finish to it. I purchased this vest for $15 from The North Face outlet out at Woodbury Commons in New York.

Similar 2.0 Thermo Ball Vest

The 2.0 Thermo Ball Vest keeps you looking stylish and feeling warm during the wintertime. Made with a Nylon lining and polyester fill. This vest fits true to size and features a quilted pattern front and back.

This lightweight vest is a great option to take outdoors since it rolls up easily and takes up minimal space. I like how it comes with lined pockets so I can store my phone and keys when I’m out walking. Plus, it comes with chest pockets and a zip front to help keep me warm. For your winter wardrobe, you should have a variety of lighter and heavier jackets that are suitable for different temperatures.

The Hydrenalite Jacket

The Hydrenalite jacket is an essential piece to have in your collection. This has a 500-fill goose down that helps you stay warm during the frigid weather. Plus, the hood provides protection for your hair with the zip front keeping winter elements out. I was surprised at how lightweight this jacket is and how easy it is to wash. I like the fit of this jacket along with the pockets in the front.

Similar 1996 Cropped Nuptse

The iconic Nuptse now comes in a cropped version. This jacket fits true to size and features a heavy down fill that will keep you warm during the wintertime.

The cinched hem cord allows for an adjustable waistline with pockets in the front for storage.

This was the first jacket I purchased when I started building my winter wardrobe. I purchased this from the outlet for about $70. When it comes to getting the best deals on North Face winter jackets always shop during the Spring/Summer time. This is considered their off-season, so many times they are putting winter items on clearance to make room for summer inventory. I always shop around this time to get some of the most coveted styles for a deal.

The Reversible Mossbud Jacket

The North Face Mossbud Jacket is one of my favorites because it’s a 2-in-1 reversible jacket. On the outside, the jacket features a 100% recycled polyester fabric while the inside has a fleece lining that’s soft to the touch. The outer royal blue shell is made from a water-resistant material that helps to keep water and snow out. While the white fleece lining keeps you warm, especially during the early Fall season.

The Mossbud Jacket comes in several color variations with different prints.

When it comes to sizing, this jacket fits true to size with a bit of a cinched waist. I purchased this for about $60 at the outlet, which was a steal for a fully reversible winter jacket.
