Glow Recipe just launched the Strawberry BHA Blur Drops which are packed full of nourishing ingredients. These drops are a 2-in-1 and can be used as a primer for your foundation or at the end of your daily skincare routine. The Glow Recipe team was kind enough to send me a PR sample so I thought I would put it to the test and create my own photoshoot in the meantime.
Formulation and Makeup
The blur drops can be used on oily, combination, and dry skin. As someone who deals with textured dry skin, I like how hydrating and lightweight the formula feels. The strawberry leaf extract helps to blur pores instantly while the tapioca and rice help to reduce the size of pores without clogging them. You can take a few pea-sized amounts of the primer and apply it to your face. The product glides on the skin like butter and has some slip to it since it’s water-based. This formula has a light refreshing scent to it that’s not overbearing and leaves the face feeling tacky.
The Glow Recipe Blur Drops help prep the skin for foundation so it can stay on all day and night. I use this moisturizing primer with several of my matte foundations. This helps to keep away any dry patches that may form when applying my foundation and powders. You can also use this with a luminous foundation to achieve that hydrated, sun-kissed makeup look. These drops can also be used in your morning or night skincare routine, I use them at night to help lock in moisture.
Silicone Free Texture
This primer also sets itself apart from the others by being silicone free and having a water base. Silicone primers can clog pores and leave the skin feeling sticky. The liquid formula leaves a light covering on the face that has a quick dry down. The Glow Recipe drops work well with other foundations, cream products, and powders. You can layer on your makeup products without worrying about flaking and patches.
When traveling on the go, I take these Blur Drops with me since the packaging is small, lightweight, and convenient. The twist and lock cap unscrews from the bottom where the product can be pushed through the nozzle. I usually give the bottle a good shake before applying it to my face. Take clean fingers and spread the primer across your cheeks, forehead, and nose. Then rub the product into the skin and tap it dry. A little bit goes a long way so use small amounts when creating your base for foundation.
Blurring Pore Primer
I did a wear test using the Glow Recipe primer to see how long I could stay oil-free. After 7 hours I noticed I had minimal shine which I was very pleased about. Overall, the serum performs well and can easily become a staple in your makeup or skincare collection.
