The 260 Adidas Sample Sale is a great way to get Adidas products at a fraction of the price. Sample sales are the go-to in fashion when it comes to getting amazing deals on your favorite brands. In New York, I shopped the MK sample sale as a perk for interning at Michael Kors. Now I shop a ton of them here in Miami at 260 Sample Sale.
What is a Sample Sale?
A sample sale is a way for brands to sell excess merchandise to customers. Retail companies like Adidas order and create a bunch of products for all their different lines like Y-3 and Originals. Certain shoes or bags will do well and sell out while other pieces only get a handful of orders. So this means that Adidas has several products from the previous seasons sitting in a warehouse. When this happens it makes more sense to get rid of the products than to hold on to them to sell later. At the same time, Adidas is trying to make room for new merchandise to sell in-stores and online.
In order to make room for new pieces, Adidas will partner with companies like 260 Sample Sale to sell older products at a deep discount. Everything at the 260 Adidas Sample Sale was 75% off and more. Sometimes merchandise is brand new and other times it’s pre-loved. Higher-end brands like Jimmy choo host these sales events to sell shoes worn in magazines or runway shows. So always check the condition of the merchandise because everything is a final sale.
260 Sample Sale and Adidas
So where are these sample sales held and how can you find out about them? Well, I follow 260 Sample Sale on Instagram to stay updated on the latest sales from different brands. Companies like Chloe, Paul Smith, Sandro, and Adidas host several sample sales every year. Most of the time 260 will post sneak peeks of merchandise and pricing on their stories. Then you will see a feed post displaying all the dates to shop. Also, continue to check their Instagram page because they host amazing giveaways for each sample sale. 260 Sample Sale has locations in Los Angeles, New York City, and Miami. I always pop into the Miami Design District location to see what’s available.
Inside The Sale
The 260 Adidas Sample Sale was one for the books! The line was wrapped around the corner with many people eager to get inside and see the merchandise. A lot of resellers and sneakerheads came to check out the shoes from Y-3 and the Adidas Originals bags. I waited outside an hour watching all the Instagram stories 260 posted showcasing all the products available from the Adidas, Y-3, and Originals collections. My eyes were set on this white Adidas Originals backpack since I didn’t have a bag in that color. I couldn’t wait to get inside because several people were walking out with 2 and 3 bags full of merchandise.
I finally make it inside and the staff lets us know that we have 45 minutes to shop. Walking around the tables I saw a small collection of Y-3 sneakers, HU slides from the Adidas X Pharrell collaboration, and a bunch of Originals shoes. Then, I started looking at the Y-3 clothing, with most pieces being oversized in black. Most of the Originals clothing was for Men with a few tennis outfits for Women. There were several Men’s puffer jackets, soccer shirts, t-shirts, and pants. Finally, I checked out the accessories table to see all the Y-3 totes, Lotta Volkova clutches, and Originals bags.
Adidas X 032c Collection
I started looking through all the tote bags and clutches until I stopped dead in my tracks looking at one. It was this cream color backpack that had white straps going all across it. I immediately picked it up because it reminded me of a utilitarian style. The belts and hooks were covered in white with the Adidas X 032c lettering on them. The bag has a smooth texture, with netting on the back and sides. I really like how Adidas combined all these different fabrics materials to make the backpack.
The inside of the backpack is roomy and multifunctional. You could definitely pack a week’s worth of clothes for a trip. In the main compartment, there is a laptop sleeve that can fit a MacBook or iPad. Then a smaller sleeve where you can store an iPhone, book, and much more. You can put a water bottle or insulated food jar in the mesh pocket on the right side. On the outside, there is a second mesh pocket to store any snacks like fruit and granola bars.
Backpack Design and Collaborating with 032c
I really like how the designers at Adidas thought about these practical design details. All the straps on the backpack are adjustable. The shoulder straps are padded, which allows me to store everything I need and still feel comfortable. At the top are clips to secure the backside to the top compartment in the front. I can zip open the top compartment to a cream mesh netting. On the inside, there is a zippered pocket to store smaller items like keys, lip balm, and more.
In the front, the shoulder straps clip making sure that the bag is secured on my body. All along the front are a bunch of velcro straps where you can pull them off and place them in different areas. The coolest design detail is on the backside which features this really cool cutout covered with mesh. I always think about a turtle shell whenever I look at it. The backpack incorporates a lot of practicality along with unique aesthetics.
Before purchasing, I quickly did some research on Google and discovered that Adidas partnered with 032c to create this bag. 032c is a popular magazine and apparel brand based in Berlin, Germany. Adidas and 032c collaborate to make several capsule collections. These collections feature shoes, bags, and apparel that are multifunctional and great to use for the outdoors. How To Find The Best Deals
After getting that insight I decided to purchase the bag and it only cost me $45, which was a steal. When I checked online I found it was originally retailing for $260 and was sold out everywhere. When you shop during a sample sale look to see how much the merchandise was selling for. This way you know you’re getting a good deal on the product. Overall, I enjoyed my experience shopping the 260 Adidas Sample Sale and I can’t wait for the next one to come.
