Aldo x Barbie Series: The Y2K Barbie™ Rhinestone Bag

The Aldo x Barbie™ collection brought fun, bold, and playful styles that are a must-have to add to your closet. I knew the collection would sell out fast after Aldo dropped some promo showcasing the handbags and accessories. Many of the pieces truly embodied the youthful spirit of Barbie with the bright pink colors and rhinestones.

I bought the Aldo x Barbie™ shoulder bag as a present for myself for Christmas. I purchased it at the perfect time since it was right after Black Friday and Aldo was double discounting the collection for a limited time. So I was able to get my bag for $38 and receive cashback on my online order using Rakuten. I got my Barbie™ bag at a great deal since it originally retailed for almost $70. The excitement of walking into the Aldo store and picking up my shoulder bag was a feeling like none other.

Aldo went back in time to bring this early 2000’s, Y2k-inspired fashion bag which is still very much relevant today. This is a translucent baguette-style bag that features several design elements. In the front, you have these pink B’s that are bedazzled in rhinestones going across diagonally on the bag. On the inside, you have this small removable satin pouch that’s big enough to store all your essentials. Then you have my favorite part the silver metal chain strap with the rhinestone encrusted Barbie™ head. Plus, on the backside, you have a silver plate with the Aldo x Barbie™ logo on it.

I love how multi-functional this bag is since I can take the pouch out and store my items in the plastic shell or store my items in the pouch and have this 2-in-1 bag. This sits right below the shoulder and features this silver heart hardware that goes well with the rest of the collection. Overall, this bag is a bold fashion statement piece that I enjoy wearing out in the city. I always get compliments on it and feel so much joy knowing I have a bag this beautiful in my collection.
